Amen Brother Ben!

Yesterday I saw a differant side of my father in law, Mr. E.

Mr. E wears many hats. Husband, father, co-worker, elder, mentor, boyscout leader, teacher and friend. Above all else, he is a child of the King. He's also a guy that if you ever hear him yell, you take head because, well, he doesn't do it that often (so you know something big time is going on). He's the hardest working man I know, often working 16+ hours a day. You would never know that he's battled thyroid cancer, and had an industrial air conditioning unit's fan blade richochet off his chest causing him to have a heart attack. He's one of the few people that can calm my hubby down when he's upset, and he gently reminds me often to be a peacemaker when hubs and I are upset w/ each other. Thrifty is a virtue to him. He's my son's hero, as he is to his other grandkids (and to each of his own children).

One thing that I've rarely seen him do is tear up. Yesterday, he teared up, and had me boo hooing, along w/ half of our congregation. It happened when he was praying right before he served 3 (!!!)of his grandsons their first communion after he baptized them yesterday. To say that these 3 young men are rough around the edges is an understatement, but my father in law was the biggest arrow pointing the way to the cross, not by preaching at them, but simply by loving on them, and sharing as they've opened up to it.

So, it's celebration time in our family! I'm so happy for the boys, and I can tell that a change has already started to take place. I know that the road for them will be rough at times, but ya know I honestly know that they're ready for the ride that will take them through their own journey of faith. My prayer for them is that they embrace it, and drink HIM in, b/c ya know that's the bottom line... HIM. \o/

Amen!!
